ABOUT AISSEE ( ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION)

Sainik Schools are one of the renowned public residential schools of India. Sainik Schools around the country run through the Sainik School Society under the authority of Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. These schools were conceived in the year 1961 with an aim to provide quality education to the boys of economically weaker sections of the country and to prepare them NDA and National Naval Academy.

All these schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Only boys are eligible for admissions to these schools.

Sainik School Society conduct an entrance test for the candidates (who are only boys) to provide admission to them in class VI and class IX.

ENTRY AGE:

1. Only boys are eligible for admissions to Sainik Schools.
2. For Class VI – Candidates must be between the age of 10 to 12 year as on 31st March.
3. For Class IX- Candidates must be between the age of 13 to 15 year as on 31st March.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate should have passed Class V for admission in Class VI. For admission to Class IX, the boys should be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

All the candidates will be required to undergo medical fitness examination before admission to the Sainik Schools.

THE APPLICATION FORMS:

1. For admission to Sainik Schools, interested candidates have to fill an online application.
2. Candidates must be ready with all the documents and testimonials before filling the application form
3. Candidates must read the instructions mentioned in the brochure before filling the application form.
4. In case of any discrepancy in the application form, the candidature of the applicant will be canceled.
5. Exam centers are not finalized until the admit cards are live at the official website.
6. Admissions are strictly based on the order of merit in classes 5th and 8th.

RESERVATION OF VACANCIES:

1. 15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7½% seats for Scheduled Tribes.
2. Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys from the State in which the Sainik School is located. Balance 33% left over of seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population. Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats (In this connection, please refer to this office letter No. 4(1)/SSS/2016) dated 5th July, 2017) in order of merit.
3. 25% seats are reserved for children of service personnel including Ex-servicemen.
