ABOUT AIRFORCE (X AND Y) GROUP

Indian Air force is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces. Every year IAF (Indian Air force) releases the recruitment for Airmen .This is a great deal of opportunity for the unmarried males of India and Nepal to join in group X trades and group Y trades.

 

Selection for Airmen in Group X and Group Y will be done on the basis of online test, PFT and Medical Exam.

 

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA:

Indian Air force the mandatory eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade):Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

  • Group Y (Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician) Trades: Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central

/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

  • Group Y Medical Assistant Trade Only: Passed 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

  • The AFCAT exam is the first stage of the selection procedure. After clearing the exam, the candidates can opt the date and selection centres as per their choice on the portal at career air force.

  • The screening test is the first stage of the interview, which consists of verbal, nonverbal tests and a PPDT test. The selected candidates will stay at the centres for further selection tests and those who could not qualify it, would be set free on the same day.

  • The next stage consists of a personal interview, Psychology and GTO tests, PABT (for flying only), on the last day conference will be conducted after which, the final result is announced. The selected candidates are sent for medical examination.

 

EXAM PATTERN:

 

Group X Exam Pattern:

The duration of Group X will be 60 minutes and will comprise of English, Physics & Mathematics questions as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

Group Y Exam Pattern:

The duration of Group Y will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness questions.
