AILET ( All India Law Entrance Test )
All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted every year by National Law University Delhi to admit students for its five-year B.A LL. B program.
AILET 2019 was held on 5th May, 2019 for 73 seats at National Law University, Delhi..
Eligibility
AILET 2020 Educational Qualification: Any candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate is eligible to apply for AILET 2020 Exam.
Note:
Candidates appearing for their Class 12th examination in March/ April 2020 are also eligible for AILET 2020
Exam. Such candidates need to give evidence of passing their Class 12th exam at the time of admission.
Candidates who fail to fulfill this will lose their right for admission through AILET exam.
AILET 2020 Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for AILET 2020 Exam.
Total Seats: 80 [70 Seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)]. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination.
Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
AILET Exam Pattern
AILET comprises of five sections namely: Verbal Ability, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and Legal Aptitude. The mode of exam is offline / OMR based.
Each question carries 1 mark and for every incorrect attempt 0.25 marks will be deducted.

AILET Entrance Exam Syllabus
English including comprehension: The English section will test the candidates’ proficiency in English based on comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The General knowledge will be tested on the general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will test candidates on their knowledge of national and international current affairs.
Mathematics: This section will test candidate’s knowledge on elementary mathematics, i.e. maths taught up to 10th Class/standard.
Legal Aptitude: This section will test candidate’s interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.
Logical Reasoning: The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It may include a variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested.
